Neighborhood Beautification

Southwest Solutions, in partnership with other organizations, is the lead agency in many initiatives to beautify and stabilize neighborhoods, particularly in southwest Detroit. Southwest Solutions organizes an annual Neighborhood Beautification Day in June. Hundreds of volunteers work in teams to beautify sites in southwest Detroit. Volunteers create community gardens, spruce up lots and parks, and more. Select a day to volunteer in the spring or summer to work in a team to improve a site by painting, gardening, cleaning, and removing weeds and overgrowth.
