Counseling

Southwest Counseling Solutions has served the southwest Detroit community since 1970. We help more than 7,000 individuals and families a year improve their lives through our three Centers of Excellence: Adult Counseling Services; Children, Youth and Families; and Supportive Housing. Southwest Counseling Solutions is a 501(c)(3). Its staff represent the fields of psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling and education. We are one of the largest providers of bilingual services in the state, and offer all of our services in both English and Spanish.

In all its Centers of Excellence, Southwest Counseling Solutions is consistently recognized for its leadership, expertise and excellence. At the same time, we are known for our collaboration with numerous community partners to expand and enhance the services in all program areas.

No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. (A nadie se le negara el acceso a los servicios debido a la inhabilidad de pagar.) Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic

Our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) is a new community mental health model that provides comprehensive, integrated and more effective treatment. 

Integrated Health Services

Integrated Health Services provides integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services by an integrated team in partnership with Covenant Community Care.

Pharmacy Services

Genoa Healthcare has provided hands-on, personal pharmacy services within communities for over 20 years.

Community Electronic Health Records

CEHR is a way to see your personal health information, talk to your health provider, and see upcoming appointments. It is private, secure, and confidential.

Youth & Family Services

Children, Youth and Families Counseling

Our family-centered programs serve children and youth who have a severe emotional disturbance, have been adjudicated by the juvenile court, or are at risk of being placed out of the community due to behavioral problems.

Cornerstone

Cornerstone is an effective, nationally-recognized initiative that helps young people integrate into their communities and lead productive lives as they transition to adulthood.

Early Childhood Mental Health

ECMH serves parents who feel overwhelmed and/or whose children are experiencing behavioral issues or developmental delays.

Family Alliance for Change

FAFC Resource Hub is a parent-driven program that supports, educates and empowers parents and caregivers of children with mental health challenges in Wayne County.

Juvenile Justice and Youth Assistance

Provides care coordination services working closely with juvenile court, families, youth, schools, community-based agencies, and family supports.

My Next Move

My Next Move teaches about career development, job readiness, life and leadership skills, and financial literacy. It also provides tutoring in math, reading and GED preparation. Its aim is to help participants increase their confidence and skills to achieve their career and educational goals.

Homeless Services

Housing Resource Center

Our Housing First approach is based on our firm belief that everyone has the right to safe, decent and affordable housing; and that securing housing for the homeless person enables him or her to effectively respond to treatment of mental illness and substance abuse issues that are often the root causes of homelessness. 

Coordinated Assessment Model (CAM)

The Coordinated Assessment Model (CAM) is a systemic approach to homeless programming that focuses on aligning the needs of households that are experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis with the best program to address their needs.
