Veteran who was once homeless awarded new home

REDFORD, Mich. (WXYZ) – One Redford neighborhood welcomed a new family Friday morning, who were recipients of a home donated to the veteran by Southwest Solutions and Bank of America.

Thomas Frazier, his wife and their 8-month-old son officially became homeowners when the keys were turned over this morning.

Thomas, now in his 60s, had a lifelong dream of owning a home, after he grew up in foster homes, and then became homeless after being diagnosed with abdominal cancer.

Bank of America went all out, personalizing their new home, leaving a few spots to have to himself. Thomas said those areas will be his mancave.

He now works full-time at Emanuel House, the veterans shelter that helped him in his time of desperation.
