Southwest Solutions and our partners offer a comprehensive array of programs to assist veterans who are homeless, formerly homeless, or at-risk of becoming homeless. These programs provide services and resources, including the opportunity for housing or housing assistance, to help the veterans avoid or recover from homelessness, develop self-sufficiency and reintegrate into the community.
Piquette Square for Veterans
Piquette Square is a 150-unit apartment project in Detroit to house and care for homeless veterans. Piquette Square offers comprehensive support services to help the veterans develop self-sufficiency and reintegrate into the community. Southwest Solutions developed Piquette Square and owns and manages it.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program aims to improve very low income veteran families’ housing stability. SSVF provides outreach and case management services and assists participants in obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits. Veterans may qualify for short term rental assistance or assistance with first month’s rent, security deposit and /or utility assistance. The SSVF program is implemented through our Housing Resource Center.

Veterans Community Resource and Referral Center (VCRRC)
The Veterans Community Resource and Referral Center (VCRRC) at Piquette Square is a “one-stop” treatment center for homeless veterans in need. The VCRRC is operated by the Detroit VA Medical Center. It provides access to a wide range of services, including healthcare, housing, employment, benefits, and education. The VCRRC is located at 301 Piquette Street, Detroit, MI 48202.
