Teaching families to eat healthier at our Early Learning Centers

December 14th, 2009
The Regie’s Rainbow Adventures Program was developed by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM). It is a community-based health education and health behavior change program for preschool-aged children. The NKFM program is designed to address the growing problem of overweight and obese children. Pediatricians are reporting that they are seeing more children, as young as 4-years old, with diabetes and high blood pressure.

Families with young children at our Early Learning Centers are learning to eat healthier though a fun reading program called Regie’s Rainbow Learning Adventure. The six week program emphasizes eating fruits and vegetables that are the colors of the rainbow.
