At the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic on June 26, there was a special ceremony to activate “Shots for Heroes,” which raises money to benefit Community Solutions’ Built for Zero program that seeks to end veteran and chronic homelessness nationwide. Southwest Solutions is a partner in the Built for Zero effort, and we participated in the ceremony. Michelle Sherman, our COO, and Rodney Warner, a formerly homeless veteran who now resides at our Piquette Square, joined with PGA golfer Rickie Fowler and Quicken Loans and Rocket Mortgage Classic executives to start the Shots for Heroes.
Shots for Heroes is located in the Fan Zone area of the tournament, and fans are invited to help raise money for Community Solutions. It’s free to try the 60-foot shot to the hole, and you get two attempts. A hole-in-one results in a $2500 donation; a shot within 13 feet of the hole brings a $100 donation; and just attempting a shot results in a $25 donation.
We thank Quicken Loans and Rocket Mortgage and its ongoing commitment to address veteran and chronic homelessness in our community and across the country.
