Three years ago, Betty and Raymond Mitchell bought a home in Detroit so they could adopt their grandson, who desperately needed their help. Our Homeownership Assistance Team and mortgage lending program worked with the Mitchells so they could afford and complete the purchase. (Read the story.)
Both Betty and Raymond contracted COVID-19 in March. Betty was hospitalized for 23 days before she recovered. Raymond died of the disease on March 30. He was 73.
