The event featured a “pitch completion” in which three aspiring small business owners presented their ideas to a panel of judges to win monetary support for their startups.

To date, ProsperUS has graduated 855 individuals from its training program, has helped more than 150 businesses become operational, and has provided $800,000 in loans to 40 small businesses.

The major funders of ProsperUS are the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the New Economy Initiative (NEI). Additional funders include: Citizens Bank, Comerica Bank, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, Fifth Third Bank, Ford Motor Company Fund, NeighborWorks America, PepsiCo, PNC Bank, and the Quicken Loans family of companies.
