For the third consecutive year, Bennett Elementary in southwest Detroit held its Multicultural Festival. Becky Dean, our Community School Site Coordinator at Bennett, organized the event.
“The goal of the festival is to expand students’ knowledge of the diverse cultures in our world and encourage cross-cultural awareness,” Becky said. “We want to thank all the teachers for their hard work and creativity making learning fun for Bennett students!”
At the festival, classes displayed information, images, items and food from various countries. The classes visited each other’s displays, and each student carried a “passport” that received a sticker after completing a “visit” to a country.
