Team members Almeda Allen, Pam Henry and Larrone Wilkins. "It was heartwarming to work with my team on this volunteer initiative," Pam says. "Also, to see the faces of the people at Go-Getters just light up when we delivered the donations was a special moment. All of our team, and all others at MGM Grand, feel that it is important to give back to the community."

Members of the Warehouse Team at MGM Grand Detroit delivered food and needed items to our Go-Getters Homeless Drop-in Center last week. The value of the donation was $5000. The generosity was part of MGM Grand Detroit’s “Touching Communities, Touching Lives” initiative.

Go-Getters was chosen to receive the donation because the Warehouse Team wanted to help a program that is effectively addressing the needs of homeless and formerly homeless individuals, according to Dee Dee McKinney Odom, Director of Public Affairs for MGM Grand Detroit.

“We are overjoyed by the extraordinary generosity and volunteer spirit of MGM Grand Detroit,” says Shirley Cockrell, who directs Go-Getters.

MGM Grand Detroit donated food for the pantry, food for the kitchen that will be enough to serve lunch for two months, pallets of water, linens, a coffee pot, a microwave, and other items.
