In the middle, with Mercedes Benz Financial Services, are Mark Romanowski, IT Manager HQ Systems, and Harish Magal, senior IT manager. Mark and Harish are surrounded by eight graders at Mason, Mason staff, and staff with our Community Schools program, including Sonya, Ines DeJesus and Helena Lazo. The principle of Mason, Omega Mostyn, is also pictured.

Mercedes Benz Financial Services donated and delivered 25 boxes filled with school supplies and other items for families at Mason Academy. Mason Academy is one nine Detroit schools in which Southwest Solutions has a Community School site coordinator who helps bring needed resources and services to families.

Our site coordinator at Mason is Sonya Vinson. “Mason Academy is grateful for this generous donation and as a result of this donation, it will save the parents approximately $25 to $75,” said Sonya. “This is a savings which can be well spent on other necessities within the home. The Mason staff is extremely grateful because they don’t have to come out of their pockets for materials, which they normally do each year as a courtesy for the students they care about.” The donated supplies included binders, lunch bags, backpacks, calculators, notebooks, pens, pencils, art supplies, hand sanitizer, facial tissue and more.
