“No More Stigma!” declared the green t-shirts worn by the staff of our Children, Youth and Families (CYF) division yesterday. It was the 10th annual National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. CYF staff celebrated the occasion by inviting families to view and discuss a special video called “Stand Up Against Stigma.” In the afternoon, the staff organized festivities in the parking lot of 5716 Wellness, where the CYF division is located on the fourth floor.

The festivities included a photo booth, face painting, balloon twisting, refreshments, and information about the numerous programs offered by CYF to help children and youth recover from emotional and behavioral issues. The celebration attracted not only families served by CYF, but also families served by other agencies at 5716 Wellness, including Covenant Community Care (a medical and dental clinic) and Moms and Babes Too (a WIC program).
