Bosch gifts groceries to veterans at Piquette Square

December 18th, 2018
At the My Neighborhood Mobile Grocery/Bosch event, Piquette Square veteran Richard Reeves shakes hands with Brad McKenna, Corporate Citizenship Manager for Bosch North America, after Brad thanks him for his service and informs him that he is receiving a $40 credit toward his groceries' purchase courtesy of Bosch.

The formerly homeless veterans living at our Piquette Square have been benefiting from My Neighborhood Mobile Grocery (MNMG) since June 2016. MNMG is an initiative of Gleaners Community Food Bank. It provides low-income shoppers the opportunity to purchase nutritious food staples and fresh produce at low costs so they can stretch their monthly budget and eat healthier. For the veterans at Piquette Square, their MNMG orders are delivered to the building. Most of the veterans do not have cars, so the service is especially convenient.

Yesterday, Bosch USA provided a special holiday surprise for the Piquette Square veterans. Through MNMG, Bosch offered every veteran $40 of free groceries. For veterans using the service yesterday, the donation was immediately applied to their purchase, and any leftover amount could be used later. Veterans not present will receive $40 MNMG gift cards. The Bosch donation amounts to nearly $6,000.
