Southwest Solutions is deeply disappointed by plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative and the potentially devastating impact this will have on individuals, families and our community unless Congress acts before March 2018.  We believe it is imperative that Congress crafts a bipartisan legislative solution which will enable young people eligible for DACA to legally reside and work in our country and to pursue a path toward citizenship.

These are young people who were brought to the United States as children. They are assimilated into American culture, experience America as their home, and are determined to pursue the American Dream despite the fear and adversity they have had to live with. To deport them from their home would violate compassion and the values and ideals that define our nation.

Southwest Solutions has a long history of service to the immigrant community, and has a deep appreciation for the challenges that they face and their contributions to our nation.  Since DACA went into effect in 2012, Southwest Solutions has been committed to helping Dreamers in our community achieve their goals of legal status through programs like our Adult Learning Lab, and the GED and ESL programs that are offered at the Lab.

The Dreamers that we work with attend school, play a vital role in their families and community, and contribute to our local economy.

We encourage members of our community to ask their Member of Congress to support the DREAM Act or other bipartisan resolution.

The following organizations are mobilizing tools to support Dreamers.  We encourage you to visit their websites to learn more about this important issue:
