About 400 children and parents attended the Santa Day community event in southwest Detroit. The free, fun event included gifts for kids, photos with Santa, food, arts and crafts, face-painting and balloon-twisting. The event at El Bosque was organized by Family Alliance for Change (FAFC) and sponsored by the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority, Youth United, and Southwest Solutions.
“We got a great response from the community, and families told us that they were grateful to have this event in their neighborhood,” said Debbie Martinez, who heads our FAFC program at our Children, Youth and Families.
