The mission of Southwest Housing Solutions is not only to provide good, affordable housing, but to build a healthier and more prosperous community. We want our residents to succeed. Resident Services offers many opportunities for individuals, families and youth to improve their lives. In addition to educational opportunities, employment training and support services, we offer eviction prevention counseling, tenant dispute mediation, after school programs, summer youth programs, beautification projects, social and holiday activities, and numerous community events. - We serve more than 500 residents a year
- Most families we serve earn less than $15,000 a year
- Tenant Advisory Council meets each month
- We help develop resident leadership within Southwest Solutions and the broader Detroit community
- One-third of our tenants are formerly homeless who receive mental health services
- We offer a food pantry stocked with non-perishable items
- We help eligible families during the holiday season with gifts and donations
We appreciate that many individuals and families in our apartments are struggling with difficult issues. We are always willing to work with residents who need our understanding and assistance, and who are committed to bettering their lives and their environment. At the same time, we value and encourage feedback from our residents about how we can improve our buildings and our services. | |
