Southwest Housing Solutions will be applying for funding to address vacant, abandoned and foreclosed properties in southwest Detroit neighborhoods through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act signed by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The Recovery Act is known more popularly as the Federal Stimulus package.
As part of the Recovery Act application process, we are accepting questions and comments from the public about potential uses of Neighborhood Stabilization Plan (NSP) funding. This application process for federal funding is separate and distinct from other NSP funding available through the City of Detroit and State of Michigan.
We will also be hosting an open house on the NSP Plan at our Lithuanian Hall offices soon. Details will be posted on our website when they are finalized.
More details will become available as our Plan is developed. For background information about the Recovery Act, NSP, and other Stimulus programs available through HUD, please visit this website.
