Please join us for the 5th Annual Beautification Day in southwest Detroit, sponsored by Southwest Solutions.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 11 from 8AM to Noon. Volunteers will work in teams to plant flowers, paint fences, clear lots, and spruce up the Mexicantown Mercado area. Please see our Google map of the targeted area and project sites.

We will gather at the Mercado at 8AM for registration, breakfast, orientation and assignments. All the beautification work will take place close to the Mercado, which is located at:

2826 Bagley (between 20th and 21st)
Detroit, MI 48216 (see this location on our Google map for the event)

We will be providing breakfast, water, and lunch at the event.

To volunteer, please complete this form. You will receive a confirmation email and then email reminders closer to the event date. If friends, family members or colleagues will be accompanying you, please enter that number in the form.

Because this is a volunteer event, we ask you to bring gloves and tools. Please label your tools. Our plan is to use the tools you bring only at the site where you are working.

   Go-Getters Team: Planting flowers and decorative grasses, cleanup.
   Mercado Planters Team: Arranging the large planters near the Mercado, filling them with soil, planting flowers and decorative grasses.
   Vernor Park Team: Work involves clearing a small park, planting and painting.
   Roosevelt Park: General clean-up and weeding.
   General Cleanup Team: Work involves clearing vacant lots of overgrown brush and cleanup.
