Though the weather was wet and cold, the 125 volunteers from Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) were undeterred on their Community Service Day. Their proposed scope of work at our Piquette Square for Veterans was ambitious, and they accomplished it all. MMA volunteers weeded the garden and landscaped areas, refreshed vegetable beds and the horseshoe pits, trimmed shrubs, picked up debris around the building and along the street, swept sidewalks and the basketball court, cleaned and organized storage spaces, removed holiday lights, and more.
The day-long effort made an appreciable difference, and we thank the MMA volunteers for their time, energy and diligence to improve Piquette Square, which is home for 150 formerly homeless veterans.
