| Homeowners are eligible if their annual income is less than 80% of the area median income. For a family of four, the income limit is $55,900. A current eligibility chart is available. To participate in the program, you must provide: the recorded warranty deed; a recent mortgage statement; proof of income; proof of property insurance; proof of paid property taxes; proof of occupancy; and a picture identification. The HOC’s home repair loan program is part of our mission to promote and sustain homeownership in southwest Detroit. Funds for the program are provided by NeighborWorks® America, Bank of America (formerly LaSalle Bank), the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, and other sources. All loan payments from borrowers go back into the revolving loan account, which enables us to help other low-income homeowners in southwest Detroit improve their homes and quality of life. | |
