Local Officials and Government Agencies

Need to Hear from Southwest Detroiters

From State Representative Rashida H. Tlaib:

I wanted to inform you of a few upcoming meetings in Southwest Detroit to be held by the Detroit City Council and Charter Commission, as well as government agencies that are making decisions that impact our quality of life.

This includes an upcoming meeting to discuss the Detroit Waste Water Treatment facility, which has caused unbearable odor and noise pollution in our community. There will also be a meeting to discuss the rehabilitation project that will temporarily close down the Basquel Bridge near Oakwood Heights and South Schaefer Highway.

There is power in numbers.

It is important that you make every effort to make your voice heard by attending these meetings and spreading the word. If you need transportation assistance, please contact my office.
